PROBLEMS FACING SPREAD OF AGRICULTURE IN GREEN HOUSES IN AL-QADISIYA GOVERNORATE

Abstract
of agriculture in greenhouses in Qadisiya Governorate. sample of(145)
respondents were randomly selected consisted of (52)farmers unused
greenhouses (65) farmers discontinuance with it and (28) agricultural staff work
in research area. a questionnaire prepared for each group of respondents for the
data collected during October to December 2017. An importance scale used to
capture respondent responses scores form(0)unimportance to(4)very importance.
The main results showed that(59) problems determined by respondents classified
in to (10) aspects These areas are divided into three main problems: 1.
Technology problems; 2. Problems related to farmers and their agricultural
systems; 3. Institutional problems. The results showed that the highest degree of
importance is related to the problems related to the failure of farmers to adopt
the technology of greenhouses of (3.86) degrees for the high cost of the price of
the greenhouse that falls within the scope of the cost of technology, and that the
lowest average degree of significance was (1.05) degrees for the paragraph of the
lack of access to the farmer on a greenhouse, despite the submission of a request
that falls within the field of services. and that the highest level of importance for
the problems related to the non-continuation of farmers in agriculture in
greenhouses of (3.92) degree to the paragraph of the competition of imported
products and lower prices for production costs falling within the field of
agricultural policy, and got a paragraph directing the Directorate of Agriculture
and the people of agriculture in the Governorate focused on the cultivation of
potato crop at the lowest average degree of importance of (2.61) degrees and falls
within the scope of programs, plans and guidance. As for the problems from the
perspective of the agricultural staff, the weakness of the protection of the local
product received the highest mean score of (3.78) degrees, It falls within the area
of agricultural policy. The paragraph number of greenhouses with the lowest
level of importance of(2.03) degrees was found among the farmers in the area of
programs, plans and directives. It follows that the poor performance and
effectiveness of the system-wide institutional and governmental organizations
that comprise the network system the dissemination of agricultural technologies
in the dissemination of technology and greenhouses. and that the dissemination
of such technologies in the Qadisiya Governorate took place in the absence of
deliberate deployment plan inclusive of all the plans and events of the publishing
process. Counselling and service processing and follow-up and evaluation. The
researchers recommended that the stand of the Ministry of Agriculture and its
formations and institutions related to the dissemination of greenhouses on the
results of this study for use in decision-making, developmental or resolutions to
work on technology dissemination as a necessity to increase agricultural
production and food security and improving farmers' incomes.
