Abstract

The present study was carried out to determine the host preference / host species and larval instars for Galleria mellonella on egg laying and survival of Goniozus sp. Result revealed that Batrachedra amydraula, Galleria mellonella was the most preferred host than Ephestia kuehniella for parasitoid when they were placed together separately with the Ephestia kuehniella with parasitism percentage 88.88% respectively. when put three insects together, the parasitoid preferred mainly larvae of Batrachedra amydraula then the Galleria mellonella and Ephestia kuehniella with parasitism rates were 61.6, 27.77 and 11.11%, respectively. The results showed that the larval instars 2 to 7 for Galleria mellonella were found to be the suitable and acceptable for the parasitoid to laying the eggs. The fourth instar larvae were the most preferable for oviposition with mean parasitism rate 94.44%.
