EFFECT OF SPRAYING WITH VITAMIN E AND THE AMINO ACID TRYPTOPHAN ON THE CHEMICAL AND FLORAL CONTENT OF Tagetes erecta L. PLANT

Abstract
The research was carried out at the College of Agriculture, University of Anbar, for the fall season of 2024 in the greenhouse of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering to study the effect of spraying with vitamin E and the amino acid Tryptophan and the interaction between them Tagetes erecta L. flowers, a factorial experiment (3×3) using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) and three replications. The first factor represents vitamin E and its symbol is E1, E2, E3 at three levels (0, 70, 140 mg.L-1), and the second factor is the amino acid Tryptophan and its symbol is T1, T2, T3 at three levels (0, 80, 160 mg.L-1). Thus, the number of treatments is 9, comprising five plants, each plant in an anvil, so the total number of plants for the experiment becomes 135. The nurseries were planted on November 1, 2023, and peat moss was added with river compost at a ratio of 2:1 during planting. Vitamin E had a significant effect on the studied traits, including the percentage of nitrogen, the percentage of phosphorus, the percentage of potassium, early flowering, the duration of flowering on the plant, the number of deformed flowers, and the total number of flowers. The treatment was characterized by vitamin E at a concentration of 140 mg.L-1, and it recorded (the percentage of nitrogen 1.46%, the percentage of phosphorus 0.35%, the potassium percentage 1.43%, flowering time 34.11 days, flower duration 33.22 days, number of deformed flowers 4.11 flowers, and total number of flowers 12.22 flowers). The amino acid Tryptophan at a concentration of 160 mg L-1 had a significant effect in increasing all studied traits (nitrogen percentage 1.46%, phosphorus percentage 0.38%, potassium percentage 1.44%, flowering time 32.89 days, flower duration 34.67 days, number of deformed flowers 3.22 flowers, and total number of flowers 12.90 flowers). The binary interaction of the amino acid Tryptophan and vitamin E also had a significant effect on all studied traits.
